Poems on Spain: Barcelona

The city is lost
to tourists
to travel coaches
to the
rocking and rolling sound
of luggage wheels

Your Modernisme charm
are ghost shells
lost to
souvenir shopping
boutique hotels
standing on the third floor balcony
looking down the street
your Air BnB host
is a cardboard person
waving to you

A love-hate relationship
I know
but I am just another soul
wandering in La Rambla
trying to find
street lamps
but tourism-phobia
is the other feature
I find

Tourists go home
Gaudi hates you
We are not for sale
